What is 'Covered' and Where does it come from?

Serving as an Australian awning and blind manufacturer for over 25 years, Dalekit Pty Ltd saw a need to add a ‘Badge of quality’ to the ~10,000 awnings per year that leave its mammoth-sized 6000SqM factory in Sydney’s outer-west. 

In 2019 the ‘Covered’ range was launched by Dalekit throughout its dealer network and officially launched the ‘Covered warranty’ in August 2021. This came from a need to guide potential retail customers – shopping within the shade industry – to find quality, manufacturer-backed products at a good price, locally, no matter where they are located within Australia. 

The website www.coveredaustralia.com.au was established to help potential retail customers find a local businesses that prefer to sell the quality Covered range. 

The Covered logo was created to help consumers cut through all of the ‘noise’ to find high-quality products at the right price from their local awning or blind shop. Dalekit have over 300 retailers that buy and sell the covered range across Australia, so chances are – there’s a reseller near you!

What is the 'Covered Warranty' ?

The ‘Covered Warranty’ protects you from more than just the sun!

When you buy a ‘Covered’ Awning or blind, you can expect to be covered by a quality shade with a warranty that covers more than just the sun – no matter what – for many years to come.

In this digital age it is difficult to discern from a website or a video if a product that you’re looking to purchase is going to last the test of time in the harsh Australian climate. 

The Covered brand helps guide retail consumers towards quality and also provides assurance that:

    • If you see a product with the Covered logo on it you can be sure that it has been tried and tested to Australian conditions for at least the last five years – and in some cases the product has been sold, tried and tested in Australia for more than 50 years!
    • You will get a great quality product and not just a great salesperson. 
    • The ‘Covered warranty’ means that even something unexpected happens, you can be assured that Covered will step in and come to the rescue. 

Why can't I buy direct from Covered?

Covered is essentially how we (Dalekit PTY LTD), brand the products that we manufacture.  We created, own and manage the Covered brand and its warranty throughout Australia. Just like ‘Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd’ created the ‘Subaru’ brand (before unifying them in 2017). To raise retail awareness of a quality product through branding their quality automobiles as Subaru as they left the factory.

Although our ‘Covered’ brand is retail focussed, it is not in any way – a retail business. 

Dalekit didn’t create this brand to compete with its customers, it was born to help them. 

Our aim with the ‘Covered’ line of products was always to help potential awning and blind customers to find a reliable, high-quality product that is manufacturer backed and available Australia-wide. 

So just like when you want to buy a new Subaru, you need to visit a Subaru dealer, and not contact “Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd” or any non-subaru selling car showroom.

I contacted 'Covered', so why am I being contacted by someone else (a different company) and not 'Covered' themselves?

When you contact www.coveredaustralia.com.au, your enquiry will get sent straight to your closest Dalekit ‘Covered’ reseller customer. 

Who we give these leads to depends on a few things:

1. The location of the lead (where you are locate) ie. We send leads to Dalekit customers who are local to the customer.

2. The type of job – If one business has a particular specialty related to the type of job it is, then that business may get priority.

3. ‘Covered Platinum Partners’ get priority – Dalekit customers that pay an extra fee to be a ‘Covered Platinum Partner’ and get priority for leads and additional warranty support.
